One crew, one warranty — beautiful design + legal safety

Why Your Greater Houston Home Needs One Crew for Both

70% of Sugar Land, Meyerland, Bellaire & Inner Loop homes were built before 1978 — they need aging-in-place AND lead-safe demo. Most remodelers can legally do neither.

One Warranty, One Crew

Design, permits, containment, CAPS install, 3rd-party clearance — all under Solid Mark. No subcontracting lead safety to another company.

We do kitchens, bathrooms, entrances, living areas, bedrooms — wider doors, pull-out storage, zero-step entries that look like luxury decks, not ramps.

EPA Certified Firm + DSHS Licensed + NAHB CAPS. You get a clearance certificate for future resale + a spa-like home that lets you age in place.

Common Questions from Homeowners

How do I know if my home has lead paint??

If your home was built before 1978, federal law says to assume it has lead paint until tested. We do a free visual assessment and can do XRF testing during our home assessment in Sugar Land, Missouri City, and Houston.

What is 3rd-party clearance testing?

After we HEPA vacuum and wet-wipe, an independent licensed lead inspector does dust wipe sampling. Floors must be <40 ug/ft2 to pass. We never self-clear — this protects your family and gives you documentation for future resale.

Is it legal for my regular contractor to scrape lead paint?

No. Under EPA RRP Rule, any contractor disturbing more than 6 sq ft inside a pre-1978 home must be an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm with a Certified Renovator on-site. Non-compliance risks $37,500+ per day EPA fines for the homeowner and contractor. Always ask for their EPA firm certificate.

How long does lead-safe remodeling take vs. normal remodeling?

About 1 extra day for setup and clearance. We build full plastic containment with taped seams, set negative air pressure, and do daily HEPA vacuum + wet cleaning. This protects your HVAC and the rest of your house from invisible lead dust. Day 1 is ASSESS, Day 2-3 is BUILD SAFE, final morning is 3rd-party clearance testing.

We have kids and are aging-in-place — can we stay in the home?

We specialize in this. As a CAPS Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist and Lead-Safe firm, we create a safe living zone outside containment with separate entry, HEPA air filtration, and daily cleaning. For full-gut jobs in smaller homes, we recommend 1-2 nights out during heavy demo for comfort, but containment keeps the rest of the house safe.
